2020 Young Investor Competitions

At the Young Investor Program, we believe in applying the concepts you learn in the classroom and the two competitions we host annually are an opportunity for our delegates to do just that.

PORTFOLIO PITCH 

In teams of 6-7, students will be investing $1,000,000 in a virtual simulator of the stock market, for the duration of the program. At the end of the program, teams will present their portfolio strategy to a panel of judges that include past speakers and industry professionals. Students will be judged on their portfolio performance, but more heavily on their ability to explain their investment strategy. Prizes will include a cash prize, as well as office tours and coffee chats with business professionals in the GTA.

CASE COMPETITION 

In teams of 6-7, different from the portfolio pitch teams, students will be given a case to solve. With a time limit of four hours, students will work together to come up with a solution and a slide deck to present their solution to a panel of judges that will include past speakers and industry professionals. Students will be judged on both the feasibility and creativity of their solution, as well as their presentation skills. There will be a cash prize and certificates.
